Raven is
named for a friend who is First Nations Nisga'a (Raven/Ganada
clan). The Raven would appear in different villages
in different guises; animal, human or bird and through
his inherent curiosity or sense of mischief, alter
the circumstances present in that village. According
to Nisga'a legend, it was Raven who brought light
to the world.
This
Raven sure has a sense of mischief and she has certainly
brought light to my world.
Raven placed first in the
Senior Puppy (9-12 mo) Sweeps class at the Labrador
Owners Club (LOC) Specialty (day 2) under Breeder/Judge
Roger Bannister (Greenhill Labradors) Mr. Bannister's
critique of Raven:
- "Compact, typey with nice square outline,
good angles and topline"
Raven wins
Best of Breed over older dogs (including her sister
Quinn) at the Essex County Kennel Club under longtime
Breeder/Judge Carl Liepmann (Triple L) for her first
3 points September 2011. She went on to win WB/BOS
at the next show for an additional 2 points.
Raven finishes
her Canadian Championship in 8 shows at the young
age of 16 months.
