Animals In Heaven

Why I did this section of pages

I love my animals.  Flip through my pages here or on my Kelrobin site (my new kennel name) and my love for my animals should shine through.

Unfortunately, I have lost animals.  Each and every time I face a death of one of my animals, the question lurks whether or not I will ever see them again.

Throughout my life I was told that no, my pets will not be in Heaven. They have no souls. I have been ridiculed in churches that I have attended for thinking that animals will join us in Heaven. It was one of the reasons I disliked "organized" religion most of my life. I was most certainly a Christian, but stayed out of churches due to the treatment I had received previously for believing that animals would be in Heaven.

I have always felt they would be there and have felt vindicated over the years as more and more religious leaders and authors have agreed with what I have felt. I’m not a scholar but its just something I have always felt in my heart.

When a pastor at a church I attended with a friend, announced that on Easter Sunday he would have a sermon on the resurrection of Christ and Christians at the Rapture and whether or not animals would be resurrected also, you can imagine my thoughts. Oh boy, here we go again. I was pleasantly surprised.

He agreed. He gave I Corinthians 15:35-42 as reference:

35 But someone may ask, “How will the dead be raised? What kind of bodies will they have?” 36 What a foolish question! When you put a seed into the ground, it doesn’t grow into a plant unless it dies first. 37 And what you put in the ground is not the plant that will grow, but only a bare seed of wheat or whatever you are planting. 38 Then God gives it the new body he wants it to have. A different plant grows from each kind of seed. 39 Similarly there are different kinds of flesh—one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish.
40 There are also bodies in the heavens and bodies on the earth. The glory of the heavenly bodies is different from the glory of the earthly bodies. 41 The sun has one kind of glory, while the moon and stars each have another kind. And even the stars differ from each other in their glory.
42 It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever.
Easter Sunday 2007 just happens to be the day my heartdog Kelly was born (April 8, 1985).  When she died in 1995 part of my heart was ripped out.  I have not been the same person since her death, and the only thing that helped me get through losing her was my belief in my Lord Jesus Christ and the knowledge that one day Kelly and I will be reunited.

Recently a friend needed some reassurance that we will see our beloved animals in Heaven. I hope this brings peace to your heart as well.

In Revelation 5:8-13 all creatures recognize Jesus as the Savior of the world and praise God right along with redeemed men.

God Never lies! So, having said that I believe 100% what the Bible tells me and one thing it tells me is that lessor creatures will be in heaven and they will be raptured away.

I know we will see our pets in Heaven, God has revealed that so many times in the Bible. God included the animals in His covenant with Noah. In fact, each of the seven times He spoke of His covenant with Noah, He also included the animals.

Do animals have a soul and spirit?
Do animals have wisdom and insight?
Are they sinful or sinless?

The Bible tells us that, unlike man, the lesser creatures are innocent!

Romans 8:19(KJV) says that the lesser creatures await Christ's return to redeem the sons of God so they, too, will be released from physical death to eternal life.

The book of Revelation says:

And every creature which is in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying. Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. (Revelation 5:13 KJV)

Paul wrote in the book of Romans: "Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now" (Romans 8:21-22 KJV)
